Kathy is a supporting character who appears in the 6th episode of DiC's Care Bears series, "Soap Box Derby". Along with her friend Tricia, she attempts to take part in a soap box derby race, but their crudely built car and cheating by two boys named Willis and Benny makes things difficult. Fortunately, the Care Bears are on their side.

Taking part in a soap box derby competition with her friend Tricia, Kathy attempts to ease her partner's concerns that their custom-built racer is in pretty bad condition. She acknowledges that even though it's not the best, at least they built it themselves, yet their chances for victory remain slim. The Care Bears take notice of their plight, and Tenderheart Bear, Share Bear, Champ Bear, and Cheer Bear go down to help them get their car into better shape. However, their activities are noticed by two boys named Willis and Benny, who are determined to win by any means and begin to set traps along the raceway.
During the race itself, their new vehicle is able to slip past all the obstacles Willis and Benny put in their way. The two boys themselves end up falling for one of their own traps, and end up getting sent into a lake. Even though they were within victory, the girls decide to pull over and help them out despite their earlier actions. Soap Box Derby
